Compliance with the UK WEEE Regulations

The European Union Directive, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE - 2002/96/EC), became effective throughout Europe on 13 August, 2005. It was legislated into UK law on 2 January, 2007 under 2006 No. 3289 Environmental Protection the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations.

Inspectron Ltd meets its responsibilities under the WEEE Regulations through membership of the DHL WEEE Compliance Scheme and as our chosen partner DHL is able to manage the process of WEEE collection, treatment and recycling in accordance with the standards laid out within the Regulations. Inspectron Ltd has a unique Producer Registration Number: WEEE/AD0197VQ.

Inspectron Ltd is classed as a Producer with respect to Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) for 'users other than private households' and, under these WEEE Regulations, an obligation is placed upon Inspectron Ltd to finance the costs of treatment recovery and environmentally sound disposal of WEEE from our customers where that WEEE meets the following criteria:

Is composed of equipment sold to our customers before 13 August 2005 and that is being replaced by products from Inspectron Ltd of the same type or that perform the same function.

Is composed of Inspectron Ltd equipment purchased by our customers after 13 August 2005.

The equipment supplied will, bear the Inspectron Ltd identification mark and the following logo.

Weee-Logo

This logo indicates that the equipment should be disposed in compliance with agreed national procedures, such that it would not enter the domestic waste stream.

Note. Where the item is too small to attach labels, they will appear on the associated cable assemblies and a copy of these Regulations will be accompany the Technical Documentation.

To arrange a collection of WEEE:
Please contact Inspectron Ltd to allow us to ensure that the correct procedures will be applied.
We will liaise with DHL WEEE Compliance to agree the most appropriate treatment, recycling and recovery facility to send the WEEE.
DHL will contact you direct to arrange for the collection of the WEEE at a mutually convenient time – please note, transport and additional handling costs on your site are your responsibility.
